為了響應(yīng)中國中央政府大力發(fā)展職業(yè)學(xué)院教育的戰(zhàn)略決策精神，讓中國的大學(xué)教育和人才培養(yǎng)更接地氣，本月14日，世界酒店聯(lián)盟和湖北咸寧職業(yè)技術(shù)學(xué)院在湖北咸寧市正式簽署合作，并決定將“世界酒店聯(lián)盟商學(xué)院華中教育基地”落戶在“咸寧職業(yè)技術(shù)學(xué)院”，并共同在旅游管理、酒店管理、航空服務(wù)、國際交流等專業(yè)領(lǐng)域?yàn)槭澜缇频曷?lián)盟旗下成員企業(yè)和關(guān)聯(lián)單位培養(yǎng)高素質(zhì)和實(shí)用性很強(qiáng)的人才。兩家單位還就其他有關(guān)高端資源利用，國際化渠道合作和著名企業(yè)共建及名家援助等方面達(dá)成了高度共識(shí)。兩家單位第一個(gè)合作期為十年，并致力在中國職業(yè)學(xué)院教育方面做成中外業(yè)界矚目的典范。在雙方簽署合作當(dāng)日，世界酒店聯(lián)盟主席吳軍林被特聘為“湖北咸寧職業(yè)技術(shù)學(xué)院名譽(yù)院長”。

咸寧職業(yè)技術(shù)學(xué)院是經(jīng)湖北省人民政府批準(zhǔn)、國家教育部備案的一所綜合性公辦高職院校。學(xué)校所在地——咸寧市，被列為首批全國旅游標(biāo)準(zhǔn)化5個(gè)試點(diǎn)城市之一，是享譽(yù)中華大地的“香城泉都”，自然環(huán)境十分優(yōu)美。學(xué)校面街臨河，擁山抱水，松茂竹盛，繁花序時(shí)，是求知治學(xué)的理想之地，被評為全國職業(yè)教育先進(jìn)單位、省級文明單位、省級園林式單位、省級平安校園、省級依法治校示范校。
學(xué)校始建于1965年，原華中農(nóng)學(xué)院咸寧分院自1976年以來一直從事專科層次的普通高等教育。1984年被省政府確定為“湖北省中職學(xué)校師資培養(yǎng)培訓(xùn)基地”，1999年被省政府列為“全省首批試點(diǎn)高職院校”。獨(dú)特的歷史奠定了學(xué)校堅(jiān)實(shí)的辦學(xué)基礎(chǔ)。學(xué)校占地面積1086畝，建筑面積37萬平方米，設(shè)有12個(gè)二級院部，教職員工1200余人，全日制在校生15000余人，館藏圖書118萬冊，固定資產(chǎn)總值5億多元。
Educational Cooperation has Completed: WHA Signed Officially with Hubei Xianning Vocational Technical College
In order to respond to the strategic decision-making spirit of Central Government of China, to help Chinese university education and talent cultivation boot on the ground, World Hotel Association(WHA) and Hubei Xianning Vocational Technical College finished an official signature for cooperation on April 14th, as well as decided to set up “Business College of WHA——a Central China Educational Base” in “Xianning Vocational Technical College” and to cultivate talents with high-quality and practicability in fields like tourism management, hotel management, air service, international exchange and so on for member firms and relevant units of WHA jointly. The two units also reached a remarkable degree of consensus on relevant usage of high-end resources, cooperation of internationalization channel, co-construction of famous businesses, assistance of celebrities, etc. The first term of the cooperation between WHA and Xianning Vocational Technical College will last for 10 years, during which the two units are to dedicated themselves to be models drawing attention of the industry both at home and abroad in aspect of Chinese professional schooling. At the same day of signing an agreement, Mr. Wu Jinlin, chairman of WHA, was specially appointed as “Dean Emeritus of Hubei Xianning Vocational Technical College”.
